Two but not Terrible

We had local family and the neighbors over for Ellie’s 2nd birthday, essentially the same crowd as last year.   The excitement has been mounting all week, especially for Phoebe who is far more interested in presents and cake then Ellie and thus was quite on edge about the approaching day.  Cristin went with a Dora theme and on thursday I took Ellie to a local bakery with a picture of Swiper the Fox to order her cake.  The manager informed me that they don’t print cakes and somehow this translated to “we use substantial artistic license”, a license that should be revoked.   To what extent can one modify the core image of Swiper to render one that is not recognized by Ellie?.  I am still not sure but the image on the cake definitely surpassed that threshold.   After pizza and cake we opened presents and then went outside to play on the water slide.   The Boffa girls are past naps so there is no longer a big hurry (or excuse) to get out of Mattapoisett.  This gave ample time to get out the water slide and even though it wasn’t a hot day, nobody seemed to care.
