Family Weekend

Saturday Aunt Maura and Tootsie came to help out which enabled me to put in a desperately necessary long day at the office.  Sunday Cristin and I took the kids to the Cape.  This was Ellie’s first trip to Chatham ex-utero and she seemed to enjoy it.  Phoebe refused to nap so Grandpa, Gaga, and I took her to the fish pier.   Not much activity other than the gulls but the weather was nice.  We made it back to catch the last two drives of the Patriots-Bills game which ended with the Bills kneeling away the last two minutes.   During this time the network inserted about fifteen minutes of commercials.  Maybe the fans could pledge to only buy the products of direct competitors of the companies that advertise during the games and put an end to these shenanigans.  Of course if you removed the commercials the game is down to an hour and if you removed the dead time where the ball isn’t actually in play you are down to 11 minutes.  11 minutes of actual action and the networks can keep fans on the couch for 180.   That is amazing.  Actually it it is probably more a combination of the TV and obesity.  Following the first loss to the Bills in 15 or so games, Phoebe cheered everybody up with her dancing skills.Above: It is always high fashion when the Mo is around.  Below:  Phoebe watches that team from Buffalo hand the Pats their first loss since 2003.

Below:  Ellie snoozes with her grandfather while he consumes a rather large piece of Friendly’s Ice Cream cake.
