Send Coffee

The first weekend with the two kids proved to be, not surprisingly, a bit tiring.  Cristin is running on intermittent sleep and I remain Phoebe’s unofficial caregiver.  A trip to the zoo in the morning on saturday and a walk around the wharf in the afternoon rounded out a beautiful saturday.  Phoebe enjoys playing in the bandstand which features a nice tangled mess of exposed wiring.  Such fun.  Poppy, Tootsie, and Mo came on sunday and despite their presence in Mattapoisett, the Patriots managed to beat that team from San Diego. Our neighbor, who monitors such things closely, claims that the Howley curse only influences playoff games so it still may be in effect.   Their help was much appreciated as I was able to get into my office and do whatever it is that I do. Above:  Phoebe checks out the chicks.  Below:  this swordfish as well as the seahorse on the corner of rt. 6 and north st. remain the unofficial symbols of Mattapoisett.  They are roughly as relevant to the town history and culture as the items displayed in the town seal which include a native american in the traditional dress of a midwestern tribe, a logging boat from the Pacific Northwest, and most intriguingly: mountains.
