Phoebe Free-solos the West Face of Marion Playground
Spring has arrived and we are able to get to the playground after work. It is depressing to be without playgrounds for 5 months straight but the hiatus enables me to see discrete changes that have occurred over that period. Phoebe has lost much of her fear of heights and has gotten more physical, to the point where I have had to talk her out of doing things which clearly would have led to injury, like for example jumping off the wall she climbs in the video below. That is fine with me. Ellie is now the more timid of the two so I guess it is just a phase they go through. I would like to encourage both of them to take an interest in climbing as it is among the best and probably is the best activity for character building. As we live 10 minutes away from the best indoor climbing center in New England this would also give us something else to do during the winter.
