Cristin Shuts Down the Holiday Machine

Cristin wound down the holiday machine by removing all the christmas decorations.  Phoebe didn’t get too upset until she was informed that she was hearing the Burl Ives Rudolph song for the last time in the car stereo.  That apparently is very upsetting to her.  Saturday we had a very pleasant day with gymnastics followed by a trip to the Nantasket Bay State Reservation in the sleds.   Sunday we had pancakes made with vinegar for breakfast followed by a trip to target and an outing to the YMCA pool.  Cristin got to experience first hand what is involved in getting the kids to and from swim lessons.  I am finding myself conflicted because I know the importance of getting these kids in the water but it has ceased being enjoyable to me.  Time for momma to step in.Above:  Ellie was happy to sit in the sled all day long.  Below:  Cristin said she “felt like a Husky”.  I hope she is just making an analogy to the idea that both of them pull sleds, not to the amount of exertion required to pull a man and gear 1000 miles through the Alaska wilderness vs. 20 lb Ellie across the mattapoisett woods. Above:  Veterinarian Phoebe checks out Ellie.  She checked his ears and decided he was sick and then proceeded to give him 27 shots.  I hope they were filled with a weight loss drug for cats.  Below:  Veterinarian Ellie plays with her leapfrog while her sick doggie recovers next to her.  After giving her the veterinarian suit and various accoutrements, including the dog, Phoebe’s examinations went as follows:

1.) Pick up the dog
2.) Declare “he’s sick”
3.) Declare “he needs a shot”
4.) Give the dog between 5 and 10 shots
5.) Declare “he’s crying”
7.) Declare “he is all better”
8.) Repeat.
