Good Fun with a Side of Trauma

Another patent crisis and I am off to Chatham with the ladies.  For reasons still unclear to me it still took an hour to get out of the house even though I had pre-packed everything.  It was all I could do to keep the hungry monsters from melting in the backseat.  We had pancakes with Gaga and then I took Ellie on a long walk with Puppa while Gaga and Phoebe headed to see the trains at CBI.  When I got back from the walk I came in to find Phoebe in hysterics.  Gaga is now 0/2 in selecting TV movies for Phoebe.  I am starting to realize that not allowing her to watch much TV has some negative impacts.  This time it was the stop-motion Rudolph from 1964 and she never got past the narrating snowman who is played by some famous person who is exactly that person that everybody from the generation prior to mine fawns over and yet he is completely unrecognized by people from my generation, except perhaps hipsters.  I hope this person’s legacy goes beyond Rudolph.  Let me check who that is – Burl Ives.  Anyway, Phoebe did not like Burl and that was end of Rudolph.  Meanwhile Gaga tries to recover from the situation and turns on a Cat in the Hat and, lo and behold,  it is the episode where they make a “snowcat” which proceeds to melt.  When snowmen melt or there is even the remote threat of such an event, Phoebe completely loses it.  Mind you that this traumatic emotional response derives from when Gaga decided to watch the original “Frosty” with Phoebe which, if you are incredibly fond of snowmen, features a rather frightening scene where he gets locked in a greenhouse with predictable results.  As if this wasn’t enough Gaga then proceeds to traumatize her own son by producing a laundry list of IT issues. After a somewhat hectic dinner I took the ladies back to momma and apparently have earned myself a saturday (tomorrow) in which I need to create my own Christmas miracle at work.

Above:  I once had a crush on a girl name “Zoe” (which at the time was an unusual name) at town tennis who hairsprayed her hair to produce a similar pattern.  Below:  everybody loves that Jeep.  There is really no where to go and it is impossible to steer with those ridiculous bear paw gloves on but it is fun nonetheless.   Below:  Darn you!  Darn you all to Heck!!
