Is your house on fire, Clark?
Our neighbors inspired me to put some lights on the house so I decided to make actual use of the porch and string up some LEDs. 5 trips to CVS later I had everything I needed. It used to be just colored bulbs but now there are incandescent, LEDs, small, large, flickering, color, soft white, clear white, bright white. The soft white from one company will not match one from another. I kept buying them out of one type which happened to be visually incompatible with every other product. I should have just gone to Target from the start but I did not want to venture out of the one-town radius. I did accidentally buy a colored strand which I used on the shrub in violation of Cristin’s small soft, non-flickering white light only policy and it doesn’t look too bad. I bought strands to do the roofline but there is no question that this would move us from tasteful to kitsch so I took them back. After wasting way too much time on this project Cristin and I were able to get out and see the new Bond movie which is excellent. I have difficulty even watching the older Bonds at this point. This was officially our third outing without the kids in 2.5 years and only the second time in that time frame that we have been together in the car without them. That is quite amazing to me. Sadly we were originally scheduled to go to Mohegan Sun and see the Smashing Pumpkins but some last minute patent crisis killed that trip. Oh that fast paced patent world. How can it be that nobody has made a legal drama based around it?
