Additional Need for Future Therapy
Saturday was a relatively busy day. We went to gymnastics in the morning and I managed Ellie. Unfortunately we were in the beams/bars section and as Ellie neither wants to walk on balance beams or hang from bars, the session was a bit pointless. She did jump on the trampoline a bit but it required me to manually launch her with my foot. Everybody got stickers and we made the snowy drive up to the Boffa’s for lunch which consisted of the older kids running around and eating nothing and Ellie sitting with the adults eating and eating and eating until it was time to go on board the Polar Express. We got there early which awarded us a table seat. Phoebe was unnerved by the crackle of the crappy MBTA P.A. system. There were in fact a lot of audio issues on the ride which is fairly inexcusable in this day and age. The train left Needham and drove to West Roxbury (a.k.a. the north pole). Santa boarded and everybody was entranced. Well everybody except Phoebe who was completely terrorized to the bone. Luckily they had chocolate milk and jingle balls on specially made necklaces designed for choking toddlers so everybody was happy in the end. Well, not until the end, until we got in the car at which point Phoebe refused to nap and just melted. It was a very long car ride home and upon arrival I bailed out of there as fast as I could and went straight to work. Given the alternative was driving straight to Logan and direct flighting via Jet Blue to Jacksonville, I think Cristin shouldn’t have been too upset with my choice.
