Pigging Out

Despite the fact that a hurricane had passed nearby only 48 hours prior, Halloween night was a perfect fall New England evening.  In contrast to last year which was quite cold, this night was warm with clear skies and wispy clouds and a full moon.  We took the girls down to the halloween parade and left  a bucket of candy on the front porch for the squirrels.  The parade was a bit much for Phoebe so we strayed behind and trick or treated after the masses had gone through. We saw a man dressed as an enormous moose and woman riding a horse, an actual horse.  Ellie rode in the backpack and was quite content just to look around in her pig suit which was quite cozy.  Phoebe had been wanting to wear her cookie costume for weeks and I think that after seeing only zombies (walking dead) and vampires (from whatever that corny movie series is called) all night, many of the home owners were happy to see cookie monster.  After the parade we went home and trick or treated at the neighbors until Phoebe started crashing due to all the intense decision making she had to do.  In the end she never ate any of the candy she collected.  In fact, I ate all of it.  I was supposed to “take it to work” but that never seems to happen.
