Moose-Induced Meltdown. And Thomas!

We took the ladies to Edaville railroad for their Thomas the Train extravaganza.  Edaville has a narrow gauge track that winds through the bogs around the property at around 5 mph, possibly slower.  It is a pleasant trip with lots to see.  We arrived just in time to see the train pass by and ran over to make our boarding times.  The girls were very good on the train and afterwards we went on a few rides.  All was well until we went inside the cafeteria to get lunch and while I was trying to figure out what to get I got the signal from Cristin that things had gone out of control.  I caught up with her outside and was informed that the enormous moosehead mounted on the wall had set Phoebe off.  We still, one week later, discuss the moose every night at bed time.  Why was the Moose in there? What was that Moose in there, was he trying to eat the hotdogs? Why was he in there?  Doesn’t he eat grass?   It doesn’t help that Cristin and I didn’t discuss our answers and thus came up with completely different responses, neither of which were as drastic as Nanny’s which involved explaining that “sometimes animals die”.  Luckily we curtailed that. Tootsie will continue to be consulted regarding responses to difficult situations such as when Tyrone left us.  Post-moose we never really recovered and after Sir Topham Hat failed to show for the photo-ops we headed home.

Above:  When you hear a blast like that you expect the 109 from Detroit to be coming through.  Instead it is a faux narrow-gauge version of Thomas (below) being pushed by a real diesel engine.

Above:  Phoebe and Cristin went on the rides while Ellie and I ate popcorn.  Below:  Cristin and the ladies on one of Thomas’s passenger cars in front of the random animal display.
