Rudy’s Diet Fails

We put Rudy on a diet shortly after Tyrone passed.  We felt that Tyrone should have as much food as he wanted.  Now that he is in “cat heaven with Oscar” we have been trying to get Rudy to slim down.  He started at 18 lbs.  He probably should be about 13 lbs.  That is a considerable amount of excess weight.  During the month of July he plummeted down to 16 lbs 15 oz. and there he has remained.  All he had to do was step up his eating vigilance.  Leave a meatball on the counter while you take Phoebe into the bathroom to use the potty – it is gone.  Leave a bag of yogurt melts on the counter – gone.  He will eat just about anything and he investigates with his tongue rather than his nose.  If he comes across anything that is potentially food he will chew it and then decide if it is food based on some kind of feedback from his tastebuds.  I am excited to see what he looks like as a slim fellow because it has been awhile but he has really plateaued.
