Reveille
It seems that I am the one waking the girls up most mornings these days. Cristin is either headed to work or was up working so late that I let her sleep in a bit to reduce any potential discussion of the latest patent drama. Not that patent drama isn’t exciting or interesting. Actually it is neither. We have a fairly standard routine at the moment. If Ellie gets up earlier, which is usually the case, I just read her books which entails holding the book with one hand and using the other hand to defend against her attempts to grab the book and chuck it across the room. If Phoebe wakes early we either read or use her Richard Scary “biggest book in the world” to make a ramp which we use to race Thomas the Train against Sir Topham Hat’s car again and again and again. Thomas has never won and he never will. Even if he read “the Secret” which borrowed heavily from the less well known “law of attraction”, he won’t be able to overcome the natural laws which are actually based in science and as such are testable and repeatable. In his case he needs to reduce the moment of inertia of his wheels to improve his outcome via Newton’s 2nd law.
