Memorial day weekend was spectacular and it wasn’t until I biked past the remnants of the parade did I remember why we had today off. We walked down to the beach on both saturday and sunday and Phoebe took right to the water even though it took a little bit of getting used to. On Sunday I brought the two-person inflatable and spent almost two hours floating around in it with Ellie and Phoebe. Ellie was content to look around and doze off but Phoebe was keen on finding and collecting seaweed. On memorial day I got up to paddleboard and when I got home around 9 I discovered that everybody was still asleep. It was a pretty lazy day overall and I finished getting the boat ready for launch. We went to the wharf after dinner for ice cream but Phoebe was much more interested in hanging around with a group of older kids who were playing tag than in eating her chocolate soft serve which I was then forced to eat so as not to waste it.
Above: Ellie plays with her classic ring stack. At this point she can only unstack. Below: a good day for floating around in the harbor in our 2-man boat. I would be pretty concerned about two men in that boat.
Above: Phoebe’s construction site was about 50 feet from the beach so she spent a good part of the afternoon shuttling supplies (wet sand and water) from the shore. Below: Ellie performs her latest stunt. I apologize again for the aspect ratio of the video. I am hoping my second explanation to a certain iphone user will stick.
Below: Ellie is in the process of transferring from spitting to growling. I far prefer the growling. Cristin and I have both taken a full face of her mouth contents on a number of occasions. It is funny until that happens to you.
