Weekend Update

Saturday we had swim lessons for both kids and then went to the Cape to look at a boat. We stopped by Art and Mary’s for a nice visit and Mary gave Phoebe a stuffed dog named Tucker which seems to now be called Taco.  He has, at least temporarily, replaced Bob in the pecking order of crib creatures.  We stopped at IHOP on the way home and they currently have some promotional deal with Universal for their movie about the Dr. Seuss creature the Lorax.  This set off a lot of rather loud announcements of “Lorax” every time the waitresses went by.  I fed Ellie and hid behind my stack of pancakes that I completely consumed about 30 minutes before paddleboarding.  They say not to go swimming within 45 minutes of a meal and you might think that I am not swimming when I am paddleboarding, but I in fact you would be wrong on a number of occasions.  Luckily the water is low 40s and warming.  Also, the 45 minute rule is a myth.   Sunday we rushed to the Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro.  It is a small zoo but has an impressive collection including very active kangaroos and otters,  lions, a snow leopard, a sloth bear, a four legged serval, a three legged serval, macaques, monkeys, etc.  We had a good time.  Phoebe decided the frogs were her favorite.  On the way home we went to friendly’s and as they were inundated, the service was a bit slow and since we were losing Phoebe’s attention the meal turned into an absolute stuffathon.  I might just order liquid meals from now on.  Of course Friendlies has the ultimate liquid meal, which is the Fribble.
