Library of Progress
After losing yet another half hour searching for library books, I had a minor rage attack and took every book out of the girls’ rooms and put them in the upstairs hallway. We own an absurd number of books, between 300 and 400 books which, at $15/each is, well, a significant investment. I told the girls we were going to re-organize and purge and I asked them to come up with some categories and gave them a template book to determine which of the books were oversized and had to go on Phoebe’s lower shelf and went down to my office to work. I lost track of what they were doing and at some point Cristin came home and went upstairs to say hello and discovered the scene shown in the movie clip below. You will note my surprise when I found that, instead of eyeballing the books to determine which might be candidates for the oversize category, Ellie checked each one, methodically. The categories in the classification system Phoebe established which include “Problems”, and “Pets” are quite entertaining. The system has held up reasonably well but will probably require an annual reset.
