A Natural High
The ladies have had a good couple of weeks at swimming. Phoebe is getting around without her floaty and Ellie is now jumping in without the assistance of Mr. Greg. He is a great teacher and we were lucky to get into his program. We had burned a lot of time in the YMCA programs and we really starting to spin our wheels. It is weird to think about all the hours I logged in the cold YMCA water singing “this is the way we wash the clothes” with Phoebe and Ellie. Hours and hours and now all just a giant blur. Swimming is now a part of friday evenings and is a really nice way to round up a depressing week of work. Last friday I left the office thinking how little I had accomplished and picked up the ladies and inspired them with stories of Jake and I got to see with my own eyes how far they had both come in the two weeks since I last saw them. The pace of progress in children is just so fast. In the five years or so it takes me to go from conceiving a proposal to getting it funded to doing the work, these guys go from their own conception to Kindergarten. Amazing.
