Silence is Frozen
I had a few hours to burn on Sunday morning before Cristin got back from her vacation. There are not too many options this time of year so I went with the Buttonwood Zoo. After a quick breakfast and a not so quick get ready to go time I drove to the zoo listening to “Timber” and realized just shy of the entrance that I had forgotten the bag with all of our winter stuff. There is a version of Geoff that gets mad in these situations but anger takes energy I can no longer spare so I just turned around and drove home and retrieved the bag and as a bonus I got to hear Timber seven more times. The zoo was very quiet. It was nearly void of people which is to me a good quality but unfortunately it was also nearly void of animals. Animals that were either hibernating or asleep or hidden in their shelter included the otters, beavers, bears, and elephants. Nobody really cared and the ladies just spent the whole time climbing on snow piles in inappropriate clothing for such activities. When we were in the aquatic center Phoebe kept complaining that her feet were itching and I did not realize until we were on the way home that she was probably having that sensation you get when your toes start to warm up after being very cold. The fact is that I was very good about putting lotion on her cracked lips so a little frostbite should be forgiven. When we got back mommy was home and I ran to work.
