Eclectic Fun

A drizzly saturday morning put a delay on the boat plans so we started browsing the web for other activities.  I remembered a place in nearby Acushnet with bumper boats so we headed over there with the bike on the car so I could ride home.   The place was quite eclectic and appeared to be a dairy farm that had been partially converted over to amusement park.  Some of the farm elements were still in place such as the low lighting and large walk-in freezers.  As the drizzle had cancelled the outdoor fun there were just a few additional families there, all attending a birthday party in a “room” within the interior amusement area created using walls built from milk crates.  As eclectic as this place is, the employees could not have been more accommodating.  They worked Phoebe and Ellie into the birthday party activities and went way out of their way to make sure everybody was having a good time.  My favorite moment there was watching Ellie and Phoebe play the world’s slowest air hockey game.      When everybody was home we rode bikes and then got pizza and took it out to the boat.  We made the mistake of getting a “family size” pizza which has interior pieces with no crust that tend to be quite flimsy.    We had just enough time to squeeze in ice cream so we took the boat over to the town docks.   I showered with the ladies – in my bathing suit to avoid further interrogation – and headed to work.  A good day.
