Florida: Pink Ponies and Sad Sunset

Thursday of our Florida trip was Phoebe’s official birthday.  We went to Great Explorations – a children’s museum – in the morning and after about an hour and a half managed to get through about 25% of the exhibits.  The “veterinary office” was a big draw mostly because there were so many animals to inject.  We had cake and presents that evening and a pleasant last trip to the beach.   This vacation will stick in my mind as one of the best I have been on.  Often I am ready to get back to work but this time I was very much lamenting going back.  The weather could not have been better, the location was great, the kids had a good time and lots of adventures, we got to see (and meet) family, and spend a lot of time with the Fougeres.  I am hopeful that this can turn into an annual event, at least until the kids catch on the fact that it is only hours from Disney World.  At that point we’ll have to determine the antipode of Disney, let me check that –  closest terrestrial location is Western Australia.  I’ll take that.
