Team USA 2016
Phoebe and Ellie have begun gymnastics to get ready for the Olympic competition in Brazil. Although it looks quite chaotic, it was well organized and the teachers were quite enthusiastic, as is the nature of gymnasts. I worked with Ellie who definitely enjoyed the class but was a little wary of the foam pit. The advice was “just throw her in” which I did and she seemed to enjoy that to some degree. They also had a sports area where one of the sports was rolling your child down a ramp into toddler sized bowling pins. I am not sure what the kids learn but I definitely got involved in a bit of a competition with one of the moms. Ellie tended to sprawl as she slid which worked to my benefit. Cristin went out with Phoebe and from what I could see Phoebe shirked most of the stations and stuck to the trampoline. The ladies had a good time and were ravenous afterward and we ended up on a hunt for Dunkin Donuts because Cristin has somehow gotten Phoebe interested in munchkins. She is somehow happy with one or sometimes even half a munchkin which I don’t understand but that is ok with me. I think she is getting into a growth spurt because dinner time has become very busy for me. Ellie is still at 100% throttle on the food consumption and it is all I can do to keep food on her plate. This morning she ate an egg, about 1/4 of a pear, 1/2 a banana, one of her baby food packets containing “mixed grains”, a container of yogurt, and a bunch of cheerios. I texted Cristin the list and she said it reminded her of the “hungry caterpillar”. I am just happy that she is content to sit there and eat because it makes my mornings easier.
