Over the Bridge

Cristin had a partner retreat in Newark, NJ so I took the kidlets to Gaga and Puppa’s house for the day.  It was a spectacular fall day with temps in the 60s and clear skies.  We strolled them down to the park in the middle of town to see the Halloween displays.  Aside from some rotten heads, most of the displays were intact compared with those from last year which had to weather a strong nor’easter prior to the judging.  There were some displays that stood out but there is no question that the creative effort can be stepped up a notch.  We spent a long time playing at the bandstand and Phoebe made a few friends.  I took Ellie on a walk so she would nap and went down to Cotchpinicut which was quite peaceful in its pre-Sandy condition (see photos below).  After naps the ladies to a drive in the battery powered Jeep and then we had dinner and bath and made it back to Mattapoisett about 30 minutes after Cristin.  She definitely got the short end of that day.
