Mom’s Morning
Wednesday mornings are mom time. I usually intend to get out of the house before the kids get up but I rarely do. This morning I was perusing the iphone listening to the ruckus upstairs. Within 20 seconds of Ellie getting up I heard the ball blowing elephant toy turn on and stay on continuously for a good time. To me that game provides roughly 7% of the actual promised excitement advertised on the box. That is enough for Ellie. She doesn’t ask for much. After getting up I went to install a gate upstairs and Phoebe came upstairs to help me. We tested it by seeing if Rudy could hurdle it which ultimately was more a test of whether Phoebe could lift him and toss him over the gate. While this was happening, things in the kitchen were very quiet and we returned to discover that Ellie had managed to get control of the yogurt cup and decided that scooping with her hands was the fastest way to get at it. A trip to target with mom rounded out the morning. Despite the friday night peapod deliveries and the diapers/soap.com boxes on the porch thrice weekly, there is still somehow always a need for Target to get more stuff.
