Defiance!

Phoebe suddenly seems very old to me.  Also she is becoming more of a handful.  I had yet to witness a “time out” put in place until this evening when Phoebe sat for her two minute time out without saying a word, then proceeded to do the exact same activity that prompted the timeout (kicking Cristin) and then declared she was in another time out and ran back to her time out chair.  I am no expert on child psychology but I am fairly certain that these time outs are not working.  Other times she has crazy rage attacks.  It is amazing what can set her off.  It reminds me of when Cristin was pregnant and would regularly tear up over sappy sitcom moments.  Cristin ordered a bunch of books to try and help us through these times but these books will probably never be cracked open.  The one book I opened had the following note in the chapter on two year olds: “extremely difficult to reason with during a tantrum”.  It mentioned nothing about how funny they are.
