Goodbye Terrible 2s, Hello ?
We celebrated Lindsay’s and Olivia’s birthday this morning at the Boffas with all uncles, aunts, cousins, and grandparents present. Lindsay and Olivia had separate cakes and separate birthday songs and Phoebe might have felt a little scorned but it didn’t show through. Her cousins were kind enough to let her share in the opening of the presents. The cardboard eco-house was a big hit and was still standing after three hours of toddler abuse which was impressive. Even Tootsie spent time in the house, which probably gave her second thoughts about her downsizing plan. Despite her late night facebook posting about dining with two big time Boston chefs, the Mo rolled up on time and singlehandedly boosted the party fashion sense. Ellie surprised everybody by crashing in Olivia’s crib and napping longer than I can remember despite the downstairs ruckus. Fun party. Also good pancakes.
Lindsay’s turn for happy birthday. I believe her she prefers vanilla. It is now occurring to me that the party theme was Max and Ruby. Watching them blow the candles out was hilarious, that is if you aren’t squeamish about toddler saliva spraying in the vicinity of food you are about to eat.
Phoebe is a bit confused why she doesn’t have a cake but she held her composure.
The house serves dual purposes. It is a playhouse and you can practice drawing on it. This is good because it enables you to teach lessons which are immediately clear to toddlers such as “you may draw on this house but not this other house”.
