Abdominable Protrusion

After accidentally ordering the blu-ray version (for those not in the know, blu-ray is the laserdisk of the 2000s), Cristin tracked down and was able to DVR the famous 1964 stop motion rudolph special that is ingrained in the memory of nearly every american.  Phoebe was quite intrigued and, after fast forwarding through the abominable snow monster scenes, the movie is an appropriate length for her.  Whether it is appropriate material is another question.  I missed most of our first viewing so I asked Cristin how they tame the snow monster.  She must not have been paying attention either because her response was that his aggression derived from a rotten tooth which Hermey (the elf aspiring to be a dentist) fixes.  This is likely how it was explained to her by Poppi.  In reality it is far more disturbing.  Cornelius renders the snowman unconscious with a boulder and then tells Hermey “go to work”, essentially instructing him to remove all his teeth.  In addition to this rather violent moment, both Santa and the lead elf are tyrants, the majority of the other characters are bullies, and Rudolph’s father (Donner) chastises him relentlessly with the expectations of the Great Santini while his mother looks on helplessly.

The sequence below captures her fully relaxing al bundy style while viewing the program, followed by the inevitable fit after the (happy) ending during which she spouted a continuous stream of her newly learned christmas related verbage.
