New World

We had originally intended to go to the Roger Williams Zoo but decided instead to go to Ply(i)mo(u)th Plantation.  Since our last visit in 2004, the Wampanoag village has expanded and there appears to be a new gift shop near the head of the village.  There were lots of out of state license plates in the parking lot and several tour groups from asia who seemed confused as to why anything in the +0 C.E. was considered historical.   We were informed by several of the roll playing newcomers that there was a Phoebe in the village although there was some disagreement at the age of this Phoebe in 1627 and whether she was a Hicks or a Harding.  Phoebe seemed most excited about seeing the animals, collecting rocks,  and falling on her face.  She seems to have difficulty controlling speed on steep downhills.   This led to a couple of spectacular superman style spills.  Ellie enjoyed her lunch inside the meeting house/fort.  Following the visit to the 17th century we picked up lunch at the Little Red Smokehouse.  They offer food comas to go.
