Serenity Not

Phoebe went on her first trip on the boat today.  This consisted of a slow speed loop around the harbor while she explored the boat in nonstop motion the entire time which isn’t very conducive to relaxing.  She also came up with a game where she would hold the rail and count to three (her sequence being “two, two, twwwooo”) and then fall backwards and hope something would cushion her fall.  I think this is derived from jumping off the edge of the pool at the Y but it really isn’t a good game for the boat.   The boat was certainly a serendipitous purchase since it turns out that it is quite kid friendly with high gunwhales which extend all the way around the engine.   Gas at the dock is 4.80 a gallon but that will probably be OK for the rest of the summer since Phoebe cruising speed is somewhere near 0.6 gallons/hour.
